I am an engineer / scientist living in Massachusetts. My education is in physics and mathematics. The focus of this blog will be financial, economic, and political issues but I will delve into scientific and technological matters as I see fit.
I am a huge fan of capitalism. Capitalism is what made America great. Its waning influence is what is making America wobble. Capitalism is synonymous with freedom. Capitalist societies are dynamic, optimistic, and full of opportunities for those folks energetic enough to take advantage of them. Capitalism is the ideology that is best adapted to the constraints of the real world and human nature, which is why it produces the best results in practice. Capitalism challenges the individual to reach inside and bring forth the best he can. Socialism tends to makes one dependent, fearful or resentful of change, and adrift of purpose.
ResurrectCapitalism.com was started out of my frustration with current economic and political trends. I am frustrated that our politicians are bailing out almost everyone with apparently little thought or regard for future consequences. I am frustrated that our national debt has unnecessarily exploded so dramatically. I am frustrated that CEOs are the biggest socialists in the country (at least when it comes to saving their own hides). I am disappointed that we are witnessing the mother lode of corporate welfare, an orgy of pork with a chorus of swine grunting for their share. I am frustrated that little by little our personal freedoms are being chipped away at for our own alleged well being.
Whatever one calls this brand of economic system it is NOT capitalism.
